Pivoting from B2B to B2C

AstroSafe started as a safe browser for kids, initially marketed to schools. However, adoption challenges in public institutions made it difficult to scale. Recognizing this, the founders decided to pivot from B2B to B2C, shifting their focus to families as the primary users. This transition required a complete rethink of onboarding, user experience, and product positioning. Our role was to help align the team on this new vision, refine the brand strategy, and create an intuitive family-friendly experience that would enable direct adoption by parents. Through a series of strategic workshops, we redesigned the onboarding flow, developed a product roadmap, and outlined key UX solutions to support a scalable SaaS-style approach.

Transitioning from a school-focused B2B model to a family-friendly B2C offering introduced new challenges. AstroSafe needed a strategy to communicate its value to parents, create a seamless multi-device onboarding experience, and refine its positioning to build trust with families. To guide this transformation, we conducted: • A Branding & Product Workshop with the founder, engineers, and designers to establish a new product vision. • Collaborative UX Workshops to redefine the user journey for parents and children. • A Business Model Canvas to align strategy, monetization, and customer needs. Key priorities included: • Redesigning onboarding to make setup intuitive for parents. • Defining a new UX flow for multi-device account management. • Ensuring accessibility & inclusivity for families with diverse needs. The result was a clear roadmap for AstroSafe’s transition into a consumer product, with actionable steps to validate the new approach before full development.

Following the design sprint, the team used our strategy and UX recommendations to develop a new product version aligned with their vision. Through beta releases, AstroSafe tested onboarding flows and product value with parents before moving to a public launch. Key outcomes included: • A redesigned onboarding journey optimized for families. • User archetypes & journey maps to ensure a seamless experience. • Practical recommendations for branding, UX, and product positioning. By reframing the product from a school-focused tool to a trusted family solution, AstroSafe was able to accelerate adoption, increase engagement, and build a scalable consumer-friendly experience.
